The City of Chicago encourages residents and visitors to use public transportation and enjoy the weekend safely and responsibly by following safety precautions and reporting suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1
FromThe Chicago of dreamsmusic festival returns after its 2022 debut from noon to 10 p.m. each day in Grant Park on Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28. With numerous festivals, concerts, sporting events, beach openings and concurrent events across the city and along the waterfront this Memorial Day weekend, the City of Chicago advises residents and visitors to be aware of street closures, additional congestion and increased traffic and plan accordingly.
The City of Chicago will be deployed throughout the city over Memorial Day weekend to ensure the safety and security of the public. Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) will monitor weekend events and weather conditions across the city from the Operations Center and coordinate public safety resources with key stakeholders. OEMC will also activate its Emergency Operations Center this weekend to enable better city coordination between Chicago Police, Chicago Fire and City of Chicago infrastructure departments, city agencies and private partners.
Report suspicious activity: If you see something, say soThe city reminds citizens to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious activities. If you notice anything suspicious, notify on-site security or call 9-1-1. If You See Something, Say Something™ is a national counter-terrorism awareness campaign that emphasizes the importance of reporting suspicious activity to the police.
Pool IDs/Site IDs:For public safety at the lake, event and concert goers are reminded to be aware of the numbers posted on the poles in the Grant Park area as well as 2400 North DuSable Lake Shore Drive to 6600 South DuSable Lake Shore Drive to help pinpoint your location within the park to friends, family and to emergency personnel in emergencies.
Drivers in event areasmust be prepared for heavy traffic and possible detours. Some streets will be closed for major events to ensure public safety. Traffic Control Assistants (TCAs) will be present at events across the city to control the flow and impact of heavy traffic. Public transport is encouraged. REMARK:As a result of the Kennedy/Edens Expressway construction, motorists may experience delays and increased traffic on nearby streets as motorists seek alternative routes to avoid the impact of the project. Public transportation is strongly encouraged. The popular music festival is expected to draw fans to Chicago's lakefront for the two-day event. As the festival is underway, OEMC encourages visitors to enjoy a fun and safe event while following all safety measures and health guidelines.
The festival in Grant Park is bordered by Columbus Drive and DuSable Lake Shore Drive and Roosevelt Road with Ida B. Wells. Entrance to the festival and age limit
Concertgoers can enter the festival at Buckingham Fountain Plaza on Columbus Drive and Ida B. Wells Drive. All participants must be 18 or over to purchase tickets and enter the festival and this will be strictly enforced.
Security, Security Investigation and Enforcement
Security measures have been enhanced for a multi-layered event security plan, with increased security and police presence inside and outside the festival. For the safety of everyone entering the festival, all fans will be subject to full airport-style screening prior to entry. This may include a full body patrol and magnetometer screening prior to entry. As always, no minors are allowed to consume alcohol and the regulation will be strictly enforced. Participants are reminded that if they see anything suspicious, they should speak to on-site security personnel or call 9-1-1.
In case of emergency, attendSueños Chicago will also receive safety messages from the official SueñosMusic Festival app, main stage video screens and signs during the event, as well as broadcast audio announcements and real-time updates on the Sueños Chicago Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Find the bag:ALL bags are searched before entry. ONLY transparent bags made of transparent plastic, vinyl or PVC, no larger than 30 x 15 x 30 cm, are allowed. Small purses and handbags with no more than one pocket and no larger than 15 x 9 inches. Backpacks and bags with multiple compartments are prohibited. Hydration packs are permitted but must be empty of liquid and have no more than two compartments in addition to the water reservoir compartment. Those NOT carrying a bag can enter via the No Bag Express Lane. Those who DO have a bag must enter through the baggage claim and expect delays as bags are open for inspection.
Prohibited items:No liquids are allowed at the event. However, customers can drink water while standing in line if the entrance tank is empty. Empty containers and hydration packs are allowed in this event, but must be empty of all liquids and have no more than two pockets in addition to the water reservoir pocket. Free water is provided at drinking points in the facility.

Shared rides, taxis, car services and pedicabs:For the safety of pedestrians and drivers, geographical boundaries and specific pick-up and drop-off locations have been set:

- Delivery and pickup is on Jackson Street between DuSable Lake Shore Drive and Columbus Drive or on State Street between 9eStreet i Rooseveltweg.

- There are no pick-ups and drop-offs on DuSable Lake Shore Drive, including on- and off-ramps, medians, exits, banks and emergency stops.
- Prohibition of vehicles, stopping, standing or parking on bus or bicycle lanes, fire roads, sidewalk crossings, etc.
